About this policy
This policy explains how AdminHint collects and uses information through adminhint.com. AdminHint publishes articles about Linux, server administration, email marketing, and search engine optimization. For privacy questions or requests, use our Contact Us page.
Information you provide
When you contact us, our form asks for your name, email address, and message. We use this information to handle your inquiry and reply. Please do not include passwords, payment details, or other sensitive information in a message.
Our newsletter forms collect an email address to manage subscription requests and newsletter communications. Current forms use WPForms Lite to process submissions and email notifications; it does not provide a local submission inbox. Records collected under previous form configurations may remain in our WordPress database or email systems. To withdraw a subscription request or ask us to remove your details, contact us through the Contact Us page.
Comments and profiles
If you leave a comment, WordPress collects the fields in the comment form, including your name, email address, comment, and optional website address. It also records your IP address and browser information to help manage comments and detect abuse. Approved comments and the display name you provide can appear publicly; your email address is not displayed as part of the comment.
WordPress can send a hash derived from your email address to Gravatar to retrieve a profile image. An image associated with an approved comment may be shown publicly. See Automattic’s privacy policy for information about Gravatar.
Technical information and cookies
Our hosting and website services process technical information such as IP addresses, requested pages, access times, and browser details to deliver the site, maintain logs, and investigate faults or abuse. Login-protection tools record failed login attempts and related IP addresses to detect abuse and apply temporary lockouts. Website features also use cookies or browser storage for preferences and login sessions where applicable.
If you choose to save your comment details, WordPress stores your name, email address, and website in browser cookies for up to one year. Its login and account-management features use additional cookies when those features are used. You can clear or block cookies through your browser settings; doing so can affect website features.
Google Analytics
The site includes Google Analytics through Google Site Kit to help us understand visits and how readers use our pages. Google’s services can receive information about your browser or device, pages visited, and interactions, and can use cookies or similar technologies according to their configuration and your choices.
Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s privacy policy. Google offers an Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Spam protection and external services
Our forms load Google reCAPTCHA to help protect against automated abuse. This service can process information about your device, browser, IP address, and interactions. Its use is governed by Google’s privacy policy and terms of service.
Pages can load resources or embedded content from other providers, including profile images, fonts, or media. Requests to those providers can disclose technical information, including your IP address and the requested resource. Embedded content may use its own cookies or collect information under the provider’s policy. Links to other websites are subject to those websites’ policies.
Google advertising
AdminHint is preparing to use Google AdSense. If Google ads are enabled, Google and other advertising vendors may use cookies or similar technologies to select and measure ads using visits to this site and other sites. Google’s advertising cookies can support personalized advertising across participating websites, depending on your settings and applicable consent choices.
You can manage or disable Google’s personalized advertising through My Ad Center. Information about Google advertising is available at Google’s advertising policies and controls. Other advertising providers may offer their own controls; participating providers can also be managed through industry advertising choices. Disabling personalization does not necessarily stop all ads or measurement. This policy describes advertising use if enabled and does not mean that ads are currently running.
Access to information
Site administrators and service providers involved in hosting, email delivery, form handling, analytics, or spam protection can process information needed for those functions. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to investigate abuse and protect the website. Third-party services may process information in countries other than your own under their respective policies.
Retention and your requests
We retain information for the purposes described in this policy, including handling inquiries, managing subscriptions and comments, maintaining the website, and meeting necessary administrative, security, or legal requirements. Comments and their metadata may remain until removed. Copies of messages may also remain in email systems or backups.
You can contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information associated with your interactions with AdminHint, or to withdraw a newsletter subscription request. We may need to verify that a request concerns your own information. Some records may need to be retained for security, administrative, or legal purposes.
Policy updates
We will update this page when the site’s data practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision. For questions about this policy, visit Contact Us.
